Not because the place is bad but just because I'd like to have another hotel experince in LV. So after all this rambling, what do I think about the Tuscany? Um. There is free parking and easy access to all the casino self parkades. Take your stuff out, lock it and walk away.

The Tuscany has lots of parking with bicycle play police patrolling. Do not rent by walking into the storefront as the rates are waaay higher. So rent a car from the net (Enterprise, Jan 2011, $13 a day, full size Mitsubishi Galant) and drive around. There is lots to see away from the strip as well. Or kill yourself by staying on the strip with only an elevator ride to the buffet. If you're fat and out of shape, do yourself a favor and stay here to get some excercise. But after walking the strip all day, those two blocks back to the hotel seem to have grown. It was a wonderful reprive to be back a the hotel at night. One thing that was great was the quiet setting away from the zoo that is the strip. Toning down the hospital white walls with Tuscany style tan shades found on the public spaces of the hotel would go a long way. So why did it seem so vanilla plain? Maybe it was the industrial grade carpet or the stark white semi gloss paint. It has all the stuff of any decent hotel room. There was a safe, an ironing board, laundry service, fridge and small kitchen sink. The bathroom was clean, nicely tiled and as big to match the main room.

All the furniture is average and in decent shape. Also as I stood in the room, I looked around to try to figure out why the place looked so.well, spartan. But we were in the room basically only to sleep. Aerobics classes? Model airplane flying? Invite Cirque de Soleil in for a private performance? You almost could. But I stood in the center of the room one morning wondering what I was supposed to do with the space. They are huge! Now.is that a good thing? I guess it is in our bigger is better consumer crazy lifestyles. The immediate outstanding feature is the size of the rooms. The Tuscany is not a gem but nor is it a dump. For me, good value hides in the lower end gems to be found in any city or town. Any hotel charging + $250 does not deserve to be rated highly as it should be by default that your stay would be perfect. In that regard, I judge hotels by quality to value. In reality, they are a bed, a TV and a So this review is based on the cost coming out of my own pocket. I travel alot on business and I'm not fussy when it come to hotels. This was a quick 3 day getaway from our home in Kelowna BC Canada arranged as a Christmas present to me from my wife.
